The Red Bank Historical Society (RBHS) is located in the center of Red Bank, New Jersey. The society is dedicated to preserving, interpreting and promoting the history of Red Bank and its surrounding communities. Founded in 1978, the RBHS is a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors.

The RBHS is dedicated to collecting, preserving, exhibiting and interpreting materials relating to the history of Red Bank and the surrounding area. The society's collection includes books, photographs, postcards, maps, documents, artifacts and other memorabilia. The RBHS also holds regular programs, lectures, workshops and events that are open to the public.

The RBHS is open year-round, Thursday through Saturday, from 10am to 4pm. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the museum, which features permanent and changing exhibits that explore the history of Red Bank and the surrounding area. The RBHS also offers educational programs and special events throughout the year.

The RBHS is a member of the New Jersey Historical Commission and the American Association for State and Local History. The RBHS has also partnered with the New Jersey Historical Society, the Monmouth County Library System, and the Monmouth County Historical Association. The society is funded through private donations, grants, memberships and special events.

West Bank Light on Embarkation Day 2.0 from the Jewel of the Seas 14 Night Cruise to Greenland - September 15th, 2023 Pictures of the West Bank Light from on board the Jewel of the Seas at the beginning of our two week cruise. The West Bank Light is a sparkplug lighthouse that dates from 1901 and is in the Lower New York Bay. It serves as the front range light with the Staten Island Lighthouse serving as the rear range. This guided ships into the Ambrose Channel. I was able to see a number of lighthouses in New York Harbor this trip. On board the Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas for a grand 14 day cruise to Greenland (September 14th through 28th, 2023). The cruise embarks from Cape Liberty (Bayonne, NJ) with an actual stop in Manhattan (a delay leaving NYC caused by Hurricane Lee); Nuuk, Qaqortoq &amp; Nanortalik in Greenland; St.John's, Newfoundland before heading back to New York City.

Sandy Hook Lighthouse on Embarkation Day 2.0 from the Jewel of the Seas 14 Night Cruise to Greenland - September 15th, 2023 Pictures of the Sandy Hook Lighthouse from on board the Jewel of the Seas on Embarkation Day 2.0 - Friday September 15th, 2023. I was very happy to get these pictures with my longest lenses from my starboard side balcony. The later departure gave me nice lighting as we left. It is one of my favorite lights and one of the first ones I visited as a kid growing up in the Garden State. From the National Park Service, &quot;The Sandy Hook Lighthouse is the oldest operating lighthouse in the nation. The lighthouse was completed on June 11, 1764 due to the efforts of 43 prominent New York merchants. The merchants petitioned the Colonial Assembly of New York to request that a lighthouse be erected on Sandy Hook to guide ships safely into New York Harbor. The New York Assembly supported the proposal and passed an act to raise money through a lottery. The funds raised from the lottery were used to purchase the land and build the lighthouse. Coney Island Lighthouse from the Celebrity Summit - Ten Night Bermuda and Charleston Cruise - May 25th, 2023 Pictures of the Coney Island Lighthouse from on board the Celebrity Summit at the end of our ten-day cruise. The Coney Island Lighthouse is a steel pile light that was first lit in 1890. I was able to see a number of lighthouses in New York Harbor this trip. On board the Celebrity Summit for the Ten Night Bermuda &amp; Charleston, SC Cruise (May 15 through May 25, 2023). The cruise embarks from Cape Liberty (Bayonne, NJ) with an additional stop at Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.

Romer Shoal Light from the Celebrity Summit on Disembarkation Day- Ten Night Bermuda and Charleston Cruise - May 25th, 2023 Pictures of the Romer Shoal Light from on board the Celebrity Summit at the end of our ten day cruise. The Romer Shoal Light is a sparkplug lighthouse that dates from 1898 and is in the Lower New York Bay. It is 2 and a half nautical miles north of Sandy Hook, New Jersey. A few of the pictures also show the Sandy Hook Lighthouse in the background. I was able to see a number of lighthouses in New York Harbor this trip.
