The Indian Stream Historic Schoolhouse Project is a restoration and preservation initiative located in Pittsburg, New Hampshire. The project aims to restore the Indian Stream Schoolhouse, a one-room schoolhouse built in 1874, to its original condition and use it as an educational and historical resource for the local community.

The schoolhouse was originally built to serve the children of the Indian Stream Settlement, a remote community in the northernmost part of New Hampshire. The settlement was established in 1832 and was a disputed area between the United States and Canada until 1842. The schoolhouse played a vital role in educating the children of the community, and it continued to operate until 1939.

In 2009, the Indian Stream Historic Schoolhouse Project was launched to restore the schoolhouse and preserve its historical significance. The restoration project includes repairing the building's foundation, replacing the roof, and restoring the interior and exterior of the building to its original condition. The project also aims to develop educational programming and exhibits to teach visitors about the history of the Indian Stream Settlement and the role of the schoolhouse in the community.

Today, the Indian Stream Schoolhouse is open to visitors during the summer months, and it serves as a valuable educational and historical resource for the local community and visitors to the area. The project is a testament to the importance of preserving our nation's history and heritage for future generations.
