The Rochester Historical Society Co. Bea Craig Treas in Rochester, NH, is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Rochester and the surrounding area. The museum’s permanent exhibit, titled “Rochester: A Community of History and Heritage,” covers the city’s history from its early settlement to the present day and features numerous artifacts, photographs, documents and maps. The museum also offers a variety of special exhibitions and educational programs throughout the year. The society’s archives contain a wide range of historical material, including manuscripts, photographs, maps, audio recordings, film and video recordings, and genealogical records.
The society also serves as a resource for local genealogists, who can access the archives and library to research their family history. The society’s library contains a variety of books, magazines, newspapers and other publications, as well as microfilm and microfiche.
The Rochester Historical Society Co. Bea Craig Treas is open to the public, and admission is free. The museum and archives are open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 AM to 4 PM.
