The Pierce Manse is a historic home located in Concord, New Hampshire. It was the home of Franklin Pierce, the 14th President of the United States, from 1842 to 1848. The house was built in 1804, and purchased by the Pierce family in 1842. It is a two-story wood frame structure, with a gable roof and clapboard siding. The house has a central entrance with a portico supported by four columns, and a large front porch. The interior features a center hall with a staircase, a parlor, dining room, and bedrooms on the second floor. The home has been restored to its mid-19th century appearance, with many original furnishings and personal items of the Pierce family on display. The property also includes a carriage house, which was originally used for storage and later converted into a schoolhouse for the Pierce children. The Pierce Manse is now operated as a historic site and museum, and offers guided tours and educational programs for visitors of all ages.
