The Gold Hill Historical Society in Virginia City NV is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the historic heritage of the region. Founded in 1971, the Society is located in the historic town of Virginia City and works to preserve the community’s heritage through education and research. The Society’s main focus is on the area’s gold mining and railroad history, as well as the cultural and social history of the area.

The Society offers a variety of educational programs and events throughout the year, such as lectures, tours, special events and exhibitions. The Society is also involved in a number of preservation projects in the area, including the preservation of historic buildings, monuments and markers. The Society owns and operates the Virginia City Museum, which houses a large collection of artifacts and photographs related to the region’s history.

The Society is also involved in a number of other activities, including the production of books, videos and other documents related to the area’s history, as well as the publication of a quarterly newsletter. The Society also works to support the preservation and restoration of historic sites and buildings in the area.
