BUCKARO HALL OF FAME

WINNEMUCCA, NV

Ericameria nauseosa - rubber rabbitbrush With a shrubby growth habit, predilection to regularly disturbed sites (i.e., well grazed and recently burned rangeland), twigs covered with a felt-like tomentum, and flowering heads comprising about five flowers and surrounded by involucral bracts in a distinctly graduated series, this has to be Ericameria nauseosa or rubber rabbitbrush, and perhaps var. speciosa given the conspicuous corolla lobes and long style branches. This site lies at the south base of Winnemucca Mountain, Winnemucca, Humboldt County, Nevada.
