Hawthorne, NV – Cinadome (‘Deep Throat’) theatre (# 0402) Originally the Cactus Theatre, which opened in this Quonset-hut in the late 1940’s and was primarily a second-run theater. It’s most famous for being one of the two theaters in all of Nevada that showed “Deep Throat” in 1972. The theater closed in 1997, later reopened as Cinadome Theater, but closed in 2012.

FYI, Hawthorne’s primarily employer since the 1930’s has been a very large ammunition depot that was initially run by the Army, but is now run be a defense contractor.
