The Heartland Airborne Memorial Association (HAMA) in Omaha, Nebraska is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to preserving the history of Omaha’s airmen who served in the military. HAMA is an all-volunteer organization that works to honor the memory of Omaha’s military veterans through education and public events.

HAMA was founded in 2002 by a group of Omaha area veterans and community leaders. Their mission is to honor the memory of Omaha’s airmen who served in the military and to educate the public about the history and sacrifices of Omaha’s airmen. HAMA also works to promote their members’ achievements, to provide financial assistance to veterans, and to sponsor events such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

HAMA’s headquarters is located at the University of Nebraska-Omaha’s ROTC building. The organization also has an active board of directors and a variety of committees including an Education and Public Affairs Committee, a Membership Committee, an Events Committee, and a Fundraising Committee.

HAMA hosts a variety of events throughout the year, such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies, where veterans are honored and remembered. The organization also sponsors lectures, air shows, and other educational events. Additionally, HAMA awards scholarships to veterans and their families.

HAMA’s activities are supported through donations from the public and private organizations, as well as through fundraising events. The organization also accepts donations of memorabilia, which are used to help educate the public about Omaha’s airmen. HAMA is a valuable asset to the Omaha community, as it serves to honor the memory of Omaha’s airmen and to educate the public about the sacrifices they made.
