Rushville, Nebraska When Rosa Modisett Corder passed away in 1939 she left money in her will to have a proper ladies rest room built in downtown Rushville. The two story building contained ultra modern toilet facilities, as well as a five room modern apartment for the matron who looked after the building.

Rushville, NE rural art (0243) Halfway between Rushville and Whiteclay, Neb., I passed what looked like a life-size model of a horse and a stick figure in a field. I drove on about a mile and then decided that was odd for a very rural area and so decided to go back and get a picture. Luckily I did. After parking I realized that there were animals in the nearby fields that didn't fit, and then that the man with the horse was a life-size silhouette, apparently metal.

Highway 20, Facing West near Gordon, NE, April 19, 2009 - 2 Since about the second time I drove past this spot back in 1978 or 1979 at age 17 or 18 (it was dark the first time, and I was also headed the wrong direction), I had always wanted to stop and take a picture of the view west (and south) from the top of this ridge. I don't know why I waited 30 or 31 years to do it. The grain elevator in Gordon, Nebraska, is visible just to the right of the highway a few miles ahead. This scene is a bit more impressive in person than in this tunnel-vision photo because the impressive vista is almost 270 degrees wide (depending on exactly where you stand).
