The Nebraska State Capitol is located in Lincoln, Nebraska and is the seat of government for the state. The Capitol is a beautiful building standing at 400 feet tall and containing over 400,000 square feet of space. It is the second tallest state capitol in the United States and is the only state capitol with a chamber in a round rotunda.

The Capitol was built in 1932, and was designed in the Art Deco style by architect Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue. The building is faced with pink granite and is home to the unicameral Nebraska Legislature. It also includes a Hall of Governors, where the portraits of all of the state’s governors are displayed.

The Capitol is open to visitors and provides guided tours from Tuesday to Saturday, with a tour of the legislative chamber available on Wednesdays. Visitors can also view the murals throughout the building, including those in the Great Hall, which depict the history of Nebraska and the role of agriculture in the state.

The grounds of the Capitol are home to several monuments, including a statue of Chief Standing Bear, a memorial to the victims of the September 11th attacks, and a memorial to veterans of the Vietnam War. The Capitol also houses the Nebraska Historical Society’s research library and museum.
