The Platte County Historical Society Museum is located in Columbus, Nebraska and is dedicated to preserving the history of Platte County and its surrounding areas. The museum is housed in a beautifully restored 1905 Carnegie Library building and has been in operation since 1971.

The museum features exhibits on the history of Platte County, including displays on early settlers, Native American culture, and the development of agriculture and industry in the area. Visitors can view artifacts such as antique farm equipment, household items, and clothing from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

In addition to its permanent exhibits, the museum also hosts traveling exhibits and special events throughout the year. The museum's research library contains a wealth of information on Platte County history, including books, photographs, and documents.

The Platte County Historical Society Museum is staffed by knowledgeable volunteers who are passionate about preserving the area's history. Admission to the museum is free, although donations are appreciated. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm.
