Clark's Lookout State Park On August 13, 1805, William Clark, of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, climbed this rocky bluff to get a sweeping view of the Beaverhead Valley. He took three compass readings, which he later used to create a map of the area. The bluff today is now a Montana State Park, and it still offers the same views that William Clark saw.
