Nuphar polysepala - great yellow pond lily Nuphar polysepala growing in a pond (Reeves Lake) along West Rosebud Creek and the West Rosebud Road, south of Fishtail, Stillwater County, Montana. The water has receded by late summer leaving the once floating leaf pads protruding above the pond surface.

This form with rounded sepal tips, var. congesta, is most common in Montana in the Bitteroot and Absaroka-Beartooth regions, according to Lesica (2022).
