The Museum of the Plains Indian in Browning, Montana, is a cultural and educational institution dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich history and culture of the Native American tribes of the Great Plains. Originally established in 1940, the museum houses a collection of over 10,000 artefacts, including clothing, jewelry, tools and weapons, photographs, artwork, and traditional ceremonial objects.

The museum is home to the renowned Blackfeet Collection, which includes beadwork, clothing, and other items made by the Blackfeet people. Visitors can also explore a variety of interactive exhibits, including a tipi village, interactive displays, and an outdoor area where visitors can learn about the traditional lifestyles of the Blackfeet and other Plains tribes.

In addition to the museum's permanent exhibits, the museum also hosts a variety of educational programs and special events. Visitors can learn about traditional Native American crafts, such as basket-weaving, beadwork, and leatherworking, or attend lectures and demonstrations on various aspects of Plains Indian culture. The museum also hosts a powwow every year in August.

The Museum of the Plains Indian is open year-round, and admission is free. It is a great place for visitors to learn about the history and culture of the Native American tribes of the Great Plains.
