The Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn, CA, is a multi-purpose complex located in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The grounds are home to a variety of events and activities, including the annual Placer County Fair, the Gold Country Pro Rodeo, and the Gold Country Games.

The fairgrounds consists of two main outdoor arenas, a grandstand, a racetrack, and several other show rings and arenas. The outdoor arenas serve as the main venue for rodeos, bull riding, concerts, and other live entertainment. The grandstand is a covered structure with seating for up to 1,000 people. The racetrack is a one-mile dirt oval that hosts various auto races. Other show rings and arenas host horse shows, livestock shows, and other events.

The fairgrounds also have a number of permanent buildings, including a large exhibition hall, a livestock barn, and a commercial building. The exhibition hall is a large indoor facility that can host a wide variety of events, from trade shows and conferences to concerts and conventions. The livestock barn houses the animals for the various livestock shows. The commercial building is a multi-purpose facility used for a variety of events, including the Gold Country Games.

Thirty-One Years Later I took a picture of Naomi in this spot (within a meter or two) in 1993 so yesterday when the chance arose, I took another picture of her in the same spot, thirty-one years later. This is a replica of Sutter's sawmill where gold was discovered in 1848 in Coloma.

Looks like they need to repair some of the neon, but it’s otherwise in lovely shape. Signs by Wonderlite, one of the first and longest running neon sign shops in the Bay Area.
