FRIENDS OF PENNYTOWN HISTORIC SITE

INDEPENDENCE, MO

Goodbye old friend Gigantic dead cottonwood tree that I've admired and photographed for years was struck by lightning Saturday night. Despite the deluge of rain (about three inches) that night, the tree was almost completely consumed, and was still smoldering when I took this shot the next morning.
