World Bird Sanctuary is a 305-acre bird sanctuary located in Valley Park, Missouri. The sanctuary was founded in 1977 by Walter Crawford Jr., a renowned bird expert and conservationist. The sanctuary is home to over 270 birds representing 60 different species from around the world, including eagles, owls, hawks, falcons, and vultures.

The sanctuary is designed to provide a safe and natural environment for the birds, and visitors can walk through the grounds to observe the birds up close. The sanctuary also offers educational programs and events, including bird shows and lectures, to raise awareness about bird conservation and the importance of protecting their habitats.

One of the main attractions of the sanctuary is the Flight of the Living Dead, which is a show featuring trained vultures that fly over the audience. The sanctuary also offers a Bird of Prey Adoption Program, where individuals can adopt a bird and help support its care and conservation efforts.

In addition to its bird-related activities, the sanctuary also has several nature trails, a picnic area, and a gift shop that sells bird-related merchandise. The sanctuary is open year-round and admission is free, although donations are appreciated to support the care and conservation of the birds.
