Tarkio College, located in Tarkio, Missouri, was a small liberal arts college that operated from 1883 to 1992. Despite its relatively short lifespan, the college produced a number of accomplished alumni who have gone on to success in a variety of fields.

One notable Tarkio College alum is John M. Ford, a science fiction and fantasy writer who won multiple Hugo and Nebula awards for his novels and short stories. Another is Howard Bellamy, one half of the country music duo The Bellamy Brothers, who have had numerous hits on the Billboard charts and sold over 20 million records worldwide.
