The Sunflower Consolidated School Preservation Commission Inc. in Rena Lara, Mississippi is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of African American education in the region. The Commission was founded in 1991 and is dedicated to preserving the African American schoolhouses of Sunflower County. The Commission’s mission is to collect, preserve, and disseminate information and artifacts relating to the history of African American education in Sunflower County. The Commission also provides educational programs and materials to students, faculty, and the general public.

The Commission works to ensure that the legacy of African American education in Sunflower County is remembered and celebrated. The Commission also works to secure resources and funding to help restore and preserve existing schoolhouses, and to help build new schoolhouses to meet the educational needs of the community. The Commission works to promote the history of African American education in Sunflower County by hosting various events and programs throughout the year. These events and programs include lectures, workshops, field trips, exhibits, and more.
