Justice Lives in Old Buildings
An old building that crumbles and my old truck that soldiers on. A street corner in the small town of Sherman, Mississippi pictured with a lumbering, ponderous old truck that I love. 1949 Kodak tourist with the 3 element Anaston lens on Ilford Delta 100 film. Developed in Ilford ID-11 stock solution at 68F, scanned on an Epson V550 using the standard negative carrier with a chunk of anti-newton ring glass on top to hold the negative flat.
Longhorn At the Tupelo Buffalo Park I'm all done using powdered C41 developing chems. They just don't seem to have the shelf life of a liquid based kit like the Arista brand kit that I've bought from Adorama. After about 2 weeks of storage in my mini-fridge at 33F, the powder based developers, no matter what brand, start to produce cooler tones than they should. Skys turn cyan and grass is greener than it should be. I can try to correct in Photoshop, but the results are never as good as just using a liquid based chem set instead. I'm also all done with these teeny tiny 35mm bits of film. It's medium format from here on out for me. Olympus OM-1n, Olympus 35-105mm zoom lens, Kodak Ektar film developed in Unicolor C41 powder kit, scanned on Epson V550 using standard plastic negative carrier and anti-newton ring glass on top.
BUS + STOP = BUS STOP -> Clever use of signage. Greyhound Bus station in Tupelo, M.S. This was my second roll of film thru my 1959 Olympus ACE camera. I'm not sure I really like this camera very much. The aperture ring is inconvenient in use and the film advance mechanism slips. I think the black plastic spindle that you place the tail of the film into when loading the camera allows the film to slip more easily than the same part and mechanism in my Olympus OM-1n. I think if you advanced the film very, very slowly and remembered to not put any pressure on the back door of the camera, and thus the pressure plate inside, while winding on, this might not be a problem. Also, I confirmed to myself that I prefer SLR designs. I'll just stick to my wonderful OM-1n. Shot on Ilford Delta 100 film, developed in Ilford ID-11 stock solution at 68F and scanned on an Epson V550 with anti-newton ring glass on top of the negative.
New Albany - 9-11-21 A new mural in New Albany, M.S. The bicycle theme is related to the TangleFoot Trail, an old train bed that was converted to a bicycle path between New Albany and Houston, M.S. Shot using 120 format Kodak Ektar film in a 1949 Kodak Tourist folding camera with the three element Anaston lens. Developed at home in an Arista C41 liquid kit, scanned on an Epson V550 scanner and white balanced in Photoshop.
Scottish Highland Bull At the Tupelo Buffalo Park Olympus OM-1n, Olympus 35-105mm zoom lens, Kodak Ektar film developed in Unicolor C41 powder kit, scanned on Epson V550 using standard plastic negative carrier and anti-newton ring glass on top.
