The Randolph County Historical Society is a non-profit organization located in Cragford AL that works to preserve the history of the county. Founded in 1973, the society operates out of the historic Randolph County Courthouse in downtown Cragford. The society works to collect, preserve and make available to the public materials that document the history of the county, including photographs, maps, documents, artifacts, oral histories and genealogical records. The society also sponsors educational programs, exhibits, and other events to promote the understanding and appreciation of the history of the county.

The Randolph County Historical Society has a museum located at the courthouse that contains artifacts and displays that demonstrate and interpret the county’s history. The museum is open to the public and is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The museum also offers educational programs for school groups, as well as special events such as lectures and workshops throughout the year. The society also provides genealogical research services and is actively engaged in community outreach, providing historical information for local projects, such as the Cragford Historic District.

In addition to the museum and research services, the society also publishes a quarterly newsletter and operates a gift shop that offers books, postcards, and other items related to the Randolph County area. The Randolph County Historical Society is committed to preserving the history of the county and actively encourages the public to become involved in the organization.
