The Bloomington Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history, heritage and culture of the city of Bloomington, Minnesota. Established in 1972, the Society works to collect, preserve, and share materials related to the city’s past. It is located at the Bloomington Historical Museum, which opened in 1981 and houses a variety of artifacts, documents, and photographs.

The Society offers educational programs, tours, and lectures throughout the year. Exhibits include "A Century of Bloomington," which looks at the city's growth from its founding in 1858 to the present day. It also features a revolving exhibit about a different aspect of Bloomington history, as well as a permanent exhibit about the city's famous Minnesota Valley State Park.

The Society also offers a variety of research services, such as access to its library, archives, and other collections. It has a genealogy section for those interested in researching their family’s past, as well as a photography collection and a variety of other resources.

The Bloomington Historical Society is committed to preserving the city’s history and culture and to providing resources to both visitors and residents. It works to make the city’s past accessible and to share its stories with the community.
