DEPOT PRESERVATION ALLIANCE

BAUDETTE, MN

Old School Blue This old schoolhouse was built around 1925 near Harris Hill, north of Rainy River, Ontario. It was closed in 1960 as schools were consolidated to nearby towns, and had since fell into disrepair. Many remaining items and fixtures were pillaged by locals after its closure.

The current owners of the land and members of the community recently stepped up efforts to restore it. In the process, many locals actually began returning the items and fixtures they had taken.

The owners were kind enough to take time out of their evening to give us a short tour and explanation of the history when we expressed interest in local lore.
