The New Almaden Quicksilver Museum is a National Historic Landmark located in San Jose, California. Established in 1973, the museum is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of the New Almaden Quicksilver Mining District, which was the largest quicksilver (mercury) mining district in the United States. The museum is housed in a restored 1866 office building which was the headquarters for the mining district.
