The Hermann Monument Society in New Ulm MN was founded in 1865 to honor the memory of the heroic Germanic leader Arminius (Hermann der Cherusker). It is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Arminius and the Germanic people for generations to come.

The Hermann Monument stands at a height of 62 feet and is located on a hilltop overlooking the city of New Ulm. It was built of Kasota limestone, a local stone, and was dedicated on August 11, 1897. The figure of Arminius, carved in bronze, stands at the top of the monument, proudly holding a Germanic banner.

The Hermann Monument Society's mission is to encourage the study of the history and culture of the Germanic people, as well as to support and promote the preservation of the monument. The Society sponsors educational programs, tours, and other events to help keep the memory of Arminius and the Germanic people alive.

The Hermann Monument Society is a non-profit organization and is supported by contributions from individuals, businesses, and organizations. It is a member of the Minnesota Historical Society and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
