The San Diego Botanical Garden Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, restoring, and enhancing the San Diego Botanical Garden in Encinitas, California. The Foundation was established in 1976 with a mission to create and maintain a botanical garden of outstanding quality and beauty, to provide education and research opportunities, and to serve as a cultural and recreational resource for the public.

The San Diego Botanical Garden houses a variety of plants from all over the world, including the rare and endangered species of the San Diego region. The Garden is organized into distinct gardens and collections, including the Australian Garden, the California Garden, the Desert Garden, the Mediterranean Garden, the Subtropical Fruit Garden, and the Tropical Garden. The Garden also features a number of special gardens, including the Monarch Butterfly Garden and the Children’s Garden.

The Garden hosts a variety of educational programs, including classes, lectures, workshops, and seasonal festivals. The Foundation also sponsors research projects, conservation initiatives, and community outreach programs. The Garden is open to the public and admission is free for children under the age of 12.

The San Diego Botanical Garden Foundation is supported by a variety of partners, including individuals, foundations, businesses, and government agencies. The Foundation also receives grants from the California State Parks and Recreation Commission, the California Department of Parks and Recreation, and the City of San Diego. Funds raised by the Foundation are used to maintain and restore the Garden and to support educational, research, and conservation programs.
