The Southern Houghton County Airport and Heritage Association is a non-profit organization located in Caledonia, Michigan. The association was founded in 1991 with the aim of preserving the history and heritage of aviation in the southern Houghton County region.

The airport features a 2,700-foot runway and is primarily used for general aviation purposes. Continuous traffic flow at the round-about This is one of the first large traffic circles installed at a relatively busy junction in the city limits. A few neighborhoods have 1/4 or 1/8 this size, but this one encounters many cars and trucks each day. So inexperienced drivers have the opportunity to learn the habit of looking "upstream" in the flow of vehicles to give right-of-way before entering the flow. Old hands can slip into the flow and exit with little mental effort, by comparison, so natural and convenient does the new driving habit come to be. A lot of trees despite expanding urban surfaces & services There are more and more paved roads and parking areas, rooftops and other hard surface the rain and snowmelt must move past to find ground to soak into. And yet this view shows the many trees now busy growing a new cover of leaves to turn CO2 into oxygen and sunlight into energy. So many other parts of the world are short of trees for shade and the many other #environmentalservices that they provide. Extreme brightness of morning sun just north of east Around the spring equinox on March 21 at 43 degrees north latitude the sunrise is around the east-west line of this city street, blinding the drivers facing the solar giant. But now on April 21 the sun's position in the morning is a few points of the compass more to the north of east, though still powerfully glaring on the smooth asphalt. Makers of food and drink - sample day at the grocery store Today the parking lot was particularly full and the covered space usually chock-a-block with gardening supplies and all manner of flowering and vegetable garden seedlings is now filled with people with curious tastebuds. Even without a dedicated, external mic the audio here is loud and clear as the hub-bub and brief exchanges between the booths and the tasters fills the air. Dubbed "I thought this beer was named Warren" (helles bock beer) The microbrewery's double-sided menu of drinks this month includes several with long phrases as the beer name. Most follow the one or two word custom of naming, though. The brief description of this malty drink gives ABV (alcohol by volume) of 6.6% and IBU (international bitterness units) of 25. For tipplers who navigate the page of adjectives and numerical data in search of genre or category, though, this one includes "helles bock" in parentheses. Whereas pilsner is light and fizz-filled, this one is heavier, sweeter, and darker in color. Fizz is a secondary consideration. The public house ("pub") in the British Isles is a public-private sort of institution: open to all, but privately owned or leased. The resulting mix of personalities and thirsty customers can offer a healthy variety of opinions and life-experiences. As such, it can be an incubator of civil society. Different to the caffeinated atmosphere of coffee houses, the boozy customers may nurse a mild sedated mood or dive deep into sleepiness. Nevertheless, it is a "destination" and a landmark on the social landscape. By comparison the bar, saloon, tavern, or other form of drinking hole in the USA tends to have less "ownership" in the minds of customers. However, some mingling of opinions and hatching of ideas does take place here, too. So both institutions - east and west Atlantic - sometimes foster the elements of civil society; third places that are neither home nor work.
