I figured to get some kinda-spooky pix of the trees along the Winchell and Union Drain where it crosses Dow Road, a half-dozen or so miles from my home. <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/jowo/53595445589/in/datetaken/">Found those</a>. Boji Tower (Michigan National Bank Building), Allegan Street and Capitol Avenue, Lansing, MI Built in 1929-1931, this Art Deco and Romanesque Revival-style building was designed by Hopkins and Dentz for Ransom Eli Olds, and was the longtime home of Capital Bank, later Michigan National Bank. The building stands 23 stories and 364 feet (111 meters) tall, and has been the tallest building in Lansing since its construction. The building is clad in rusticated buff brick and red brick with decorative patterned brickwork, a massing that tapers with setbacks towards the pinnacle of the main tower, arched bays at the lower floors, limestone cladding at the top of the tower and parapets of the lower wings of the building, a rooftop antenna, and one-over-one windows. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005, and is a contributing structure in the Lansing Downtown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. Today, the building is home to various commercial office tenants, and is known as the Boji Tower.

Myers for the State of Michigan to serve as the seat of the state government of Michigan, replacing an earlier capitol building in Lansing, built in 1847. The building is clad in limestone with a central drum ringed by a corinthian colonnade and balustrade below a vertically-oriented dome, lantern, and finial, which rise to a height of 267 feet (81 meters). The limestone exterior of the building is rusticated at the base, which is the facade of a raised basement, with one-over-one double-hung windows, arched bays at the basement and first floors decorative pediments and trim surrounds at the second, third, and fourth floors, a rooftop balustrade and ureas, pediments with oxeye windows, doric pilasters on the first floor, ionic pilasters on the second floor, and corinthian pilasters on the third and fourth floors, entrance porticoes with doric columns, and a two-story stacked portico on the front (east) facade. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1992. Today, the building remains the seat of the Michigan State government.
St. Mary Cathedral, Seymour Avenue and Ionia Street, Lansing, MI Built in 1911-1913, this Gothic Revival-style building was designed by Edwyn A. Bowd for the congregation of St. Mary Catholic Church, founded in 1866, and became the seat of the Diocese of Lansing when it was created in 1937. The building is clad in rough-hewn stone with a gabled red terra cotta tile roof, stone buttresses, gothic arched bays, rose windows, stained glass windows, front towers of varying heights with belfries featuring louvers and crenellated parapets a semi-circular rear apse, and gothic arched front entrance portals. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. Today, the building remains in use as St. Mary Cathedral, the seat of the Diocese of Lansing.
