HISTORIC TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH

Historic Trinity Lutheran Church is located in the heart of Detroit, Michigan. The church was founded in 1850 and is one of the oldest Lutheran congregations in the city. The current building was constructed in 1893 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The architecture of the church is a stunning example of Gothic Revival style. The exterior is made of red brick with accents of limestone and features intricate carvings and stained glass windows. The interior is just as impressive, with a soaring nave and a stunning altar which features an intricate carving of Christ on the cross.

The church has a rich history of community involvement and outreach. During the Civil War, the church served as a hospital for wounded soldiers. In the 1960s, Historic Trinity Lutheran Church played a prominent role in the civil rights movement, hosting meetings and events for activists.

Today, the church continues to be a hub of community activity, hosting events and programs for the surrounding neighborhood. Visitors are welcome to attend Sunday services and take in the beauty and history of this iconic Detroit landmark.
