The Chesaning Area Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of the Chesaning area in Saginaw County, Michigan. The Society was founded in 1976 and is located in the former St. Peter's Lutheran Church in downtown Chesaning. The Society maintains an extensive collection of artifacts, photographs, documents and other materials that tell the story of the Chesaning area from its founding in 1837 to the present. This includes an extensive collection of photographs from the early 1900s, many of which are available online.

The Society also maintains a museum and archives, which are open to the public. The museum features artifacts, documents, photographs and other materials related to the history of Chesaning, as well as interactive exhibits that allow visitors to learn more about the area’s history. The archives contain a variety of documents, including records of births, marriages and deaths in the area, as well as other materials related to the history of Chesaning.

The Society also hosts regular events such as lectures, tours and workshops. It also provides educational resources to local schools and other organizations. The Society also works with other historical societies in the area to promote and preserve the history of the Chesaning area.
