Early look south from Aberdeen & Diamond St. NE Launching from the parking area of the elementary school around 8:30 this morning, this view shows the north boundary of the Fair Plains Cemetery [equivalent to Elysian Fields in English?], operated by the City of Grand Rapids. The L shaped patch of rough grass is a few years of an experiment to plant native short-grass prairie to allow insects, birds and other small creatures to find food and shelter in the city limits. It is mowed at the start of the growing season, but otherwise requires little maintenance, unlike the neatly cropped lawn throughout the rest of the grounds, shaded by leafy trees. The Allendale Historical Society has been preserving the history and culture of the Allendale area since its founding in 1967. Located in Allendale, Michigan, the Society seeks to promote and encourage an appreciation of the area's past by preserving artifacts and documents that have been collected since the Society's founding. The Society currently owns and operates the Allendale Historical Museum, which houses a collection of artifacts that span more than 200 years of Allendale's history.

The museum houses a number of permanent exhibits including the Allendale Historical Society Collection, which contains a variety of artifacts, documents, photographs, and other historical items that illustrate the history of Allendale and the surrounding area. The museum also offers a variety of educational programs, such as lectures and workshops, which are designed to teach visitors about Allendale's history, culture, and traditions.

The Society also offers an extensive library of historical documents, books, photographs, and other resources for visitors to use in their research. The library contains a variety of local, state, and national historical publications as well as a collection of genealogical and local history resources. Wells The opening pages of the live radio broadcast sounds like an emergency announcement about outer space creatures riding in something like water towers that stride along the landscape. That dramatic reading was too truthy for many listeners and they called the police or sheriff to find out where to escape and what to do. Looking north and west above Aberdeen Academy (elementary school) The exaggerated shadows of the first hour of sun cover the playing fields where soccer markings and nets for smallest players and those in the next age ranges will gather on Saturday's in the fall and spring. The baseball diamonds, diagonally opposite to each other, rarely have balls and bats in play. Rather, it is adult kick-ball leagues after work during summer that takes over the playing fields and runs the bases. Overview at Blessed Sacrament school and church The grassy field to the right is part of the public elementary school, Aberdeen Academy. But the large, brick worship building and the rectangular suite of classrooms and gymnasium/cafeteria belong to the parishioners of the neighborhood Catholic church. In the distance, beyond the school and its attached playground is another wide open grassy area that constitutes Aberdeen Park with its (summertime) Splash pad, picnic shelter and grills, bathrooms and a baseball diamond. Morning flight at north edge of Millennium Park Traces of last year's beaver lodges are at the left edge of the opening frames. Then the southward view drifts to the right (southwest) before returning to the original line of view. The paved path allows wheeled recreation around much of the park, a former series of gravel mining operations. It also makes walking and running easier in the thawing weather now. As the ground softens, more and more muddy sections stand out elsewhere. The drone is set to beginner, so the ceiling limit is set at 100 feet (about 30m). Skyline of downtown Grand Rapids on the horizon The surrounding landscape at the base of the photo and extending away from the city has been a large source of gravel mining to build concrete highways all around this region of the state. What began in 2000 as "Millennium Park" served for decades as a profitable business to excavate the sand and stone aggregates but later filled with water, providing recreational opportunities for taking to the web of mostly alphabet paved trails on foot, bike, or skis. When internal combustion engines become a rarity, it will just be tires humming that makes the sound there. Repairs and reconstruction of major east-west street downtown The "road closed" barricades allow crews on Division Street to carry on their work, one block at a time. Across the decades since the high monument to the many lives altered or destroyed by the U.S. Civil War many buildings have risen and fallen, and even more businesses have come and gone. But for each cycle of the four seasons the monument has stood witness to what has been, what is happening now, and foreseeable what is yet to be. It is a kind of time traveler.
