The Grand Ledge Area Historical Society is a non-profit organization located in Grand Ledge, Michigan. The society was founded in 1973 with the aim of preserving the rich history and cultural heritage of Grand Ledge and the surrounding areas.

The society operates a museum located in the former Grand Ledge Depot, which was built in 1907 and served as a train station until the 1960s. The museum showcases artifacts, photographs, and documents that illustrate Grand Ledge's history from its early settlement to the present day. The museum also features exhibits on local industries, including the quarrying and manufacturing of limestone, and the production of maple syrup.

In addition to the museum, the Grand Ledge Area Historical Society hosts a variety of educational programs and events throughout the year. These include walking tours of historic sites in Grand Ledge, lectures on local history, and special exhibits and displays.

The Grand Ledge Area Historical Society is run entirely by volunteers and is funded through donations and membership fees. Its mission is to promote awareness and appreciation of the area's rich cultural heritage and to ensure that its history is preserved for future generations.

Lettering, names, and weathering all point to the 1970s How different the economy, cost of living, and daily preoccupations and aspirations then versus now. Seeing this time traveler from a business long gone hearkens back to world and local events from about 50 years ago. The street name is Railroad Street, but the last passenger service ended in the early 1970s and the final freight train was later in the 1980s. By the early 2000s the rail-trail conversion was well underway on the CIS (Clinton, Ionia, Shiawassee) east-west route for joggers, walkers, and bicyclists (skiers in winter).
