The Allegan County Historical Society (ACHS) is located in Allegan, Michigan and was founded in 1954. The Society seeks to preserve the history of Allegan County, Michigan and its surrounding areas. The Society is a non-profit, volunteer organization that is open to the public.

The ACHS preserves and displays artifacts and documents from Allegan County’s past and offers educational programs to the community. Old-time grocery store The sign could be a retro design that is recently built, but a closer look gives the impression that this sign for the store is original material from circa 1965 to 1970. The aisles, checkout lanes, butcher counter, and other fittings and features indoors also give a similar historical impression. Judging from the steady stream of shoppers and the cars entering and leaving the parking lot surrounding the store, the business is well liked and serves its dedicated customers to mutual satisfaction.
