The combined architecture makes for a really interesting structure.

The Grand Traverse Area Veterans Coalition (GTAVC) is a non-profit organization based in Traverse City, Michigan. Its main objective is to provide support and assistance to veterans and their families in the Grand Traverse area. The coalition is comprised of local veterans, their families, and community members who are passionate about helping those who have served our country.

The GTAVC offers a variety of services to veterans including healthcare referrals, financial assistance, job training and placement, and educational resources. The organization also hosts events and activities throughout the year to bring the veteran community together and honor their service.

One of the primary goals of the GTAVC is to increase awareness and understanding of the unique challenges that veterans face when transitioning back to civilian life. The coalition works to bridge the gap between the military and civilian communities by promoting a better understanding of the issues facing veterans and by providing resources and support to help them succeed in their post-military lives.

The Grand Traverse Area Veterans Coalition is a vital resource for veterans in the Traverse City area, providing a wide range of services and support to those who have served our country. Through its efforts, the coalition is helping to ensure that our veterans receive the care and assistance they need to thrive in their post-military lives.

The Clock Tower The Grand Traverse County Courthouse was visible from our room on the seventh floor of the Park Place Hotel. So I grabbed my camera and grabbed this photograph just after sunset last Thursday.
St. Joseph Catholic Church Last week Tuesday we headed up the Old Mission peninsula to visit the lighthouse. We mostly headed north on the east edge of the peninsula and returned on the western side. We drove by the old mission site and took a few pix at the lighthouse park. Along the way we found this gorgeous church. That set us on a mission to photograph some churches and crosses for my sister, who uses photos of crosses to focus her annual series of Lenten meditations on Facebook, which she calls "Journey to the Cross."
Porch and Fence Another photo from our wander around Elk Rapids last week. 'Twas the fence that first caught my attention, but that porch makes this image work.
Burial Ground A sculpture by northern Michigan sculptor William Allen at the Dennos Museum on the Northwestern Michigan College campus in Traverse City. The artist’s note beside the sculpture explains that the work was inspired by the discovery of a slave burial ground in Manhattan.
