HISTORIC ELMWOOD FOUNDATION

The Historic Elmwood Foundation is a nonprofit organization located in Detroit, Michigan. The foundation was established in 1984 with the goal of preserving and restoring the historic Elmwood Cemetery, which is one of the oldest and most significant cemeteries in the city of Detroit.

Elmwood Cemetery was established in 1846 and is the final resting place for many prominent figures in Detroit's history, including mayors, governors, and other notable citizens. The cemetery covers 86 acres and is home to over 80,000 burials.
