MATTHAEI BOTANICAL GARDENS

Matthaei Botanical Gardens is a 300-acre public botanical garden located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The gardens are affiliated with the University of Michigan and are named after Frederick C. Matthaei, Sr., who donated the initial land for the establishment of the gardens in 1963. The gardens are open year-round and admission is free.

The gardens feature a variety of habitats, including woodlands, wetlands, and prairies, and house over 20,000 plants from around the world. There are several themed gardens, including the Great Lakes Garden, the Herb Knot Garden, and the Perennial Garden. The conservatory houses a collection of tropical and desert plants.
