HISTORIC CLASSICAL

SPRINGFIELD, MA

Historic Classical in Springfield, MA is a beautiful, stately building located in the heart of the city. The building was built in 1867 by renowned architect Henry Hobson Richardson. It is an example of Richardsonian Romanesque style and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The building is two and a half stories high, with a rectangular, symmetrical shape. The walls are made of red brick and the roof is a distinctive green tile. A large, square tower with a conical roof is located at the northwest corner of the building, while a smaller, square tower with a flat roof is located at the southeast corner.

The building is surrounded by a large, open space where outdoor events can be held, and it is surrounded by a wrought iron fence. The windows are arched and have decorative stone ornaments. The interior is a large open space with a grand staircase, a stage, and several fireplaces.

Historic Classical is an important part of Springfield’s history. It is a popular destination for events, meetings, and tours. The building is a great example of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture and is an important piece of Springfield’s history.
