FRIENDS OF THE TRAINING FIELD

Founded in 2004, Friends of the Training Field (FOTTF) is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Training Field in Boston, Massachusetts. The Training Field, located in the heart of the South End, is a public park that serves as a community gathering space, providing open space and recreational facilities for local residents of all ages. FOTTF works to maintain the park’s amenities, including a baseball diamond, four tennis courts, a basketball court, and a playground. It also works to maintain the park’s historic significance, hosting events such as historic walking tours and lectures.

FOTTF is managed by a volunteer board of directors, and is funded by private donations, grants, and membership fees. Membership is open to anyone, regardless of age or residence. FOTTF organizes a variety of events throughout the year, such as community clean-ups and fund-raisers.

FOTTF works with local schools and other organizations to provide educational programs and to encourage youth involvement in the park. It also partners with the City of Boston to ensure that the park remains a safe and welcoming place for all visitors. Through its efforts, FOTTF has helped to create a vibrant, inspiring community space for South End residents.
