The Schooner Ernestina-Morrissey Association (SEMA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the historic schooner Ernestina-Morrissey and educating the public about the vessel’s incredible history. The vessel is a registered National Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The 128-year-old Ernestina-Morrissey was built in Essex, Massachusetts in 1894 as a Grand Banks fishing schooner and is the last surviving example of a fishing schooner from that era.

Over the past several decades, SEMA has worked to restore and preserve the Ernestina-Morrissey and make her seaworthy again. The association operates a shipyard in Marion, Massachusetts, where volunteers and professionals work together to maintain the vessel and keep her in sailing condition. The shipyard also serves to educate the public about the ship’s unique history and the maritime heritage of the region.

The Schooner Ernestina-Morrissey Association also organizes educational excursions aboard the Ernestina-Morrissey, allowing visitors to experience the vessel firsthand. The schooner is available for day sails, weekend cruises, and longer charters along the New England coast. The association also hosts educational programs and lectures, both on board the vessel and in local communities, to share the history of the Ernestina-Morrissey and the maritime heritage of the area.
