The Ashland Historical Society is a non-profit organization located in Ashland, Massachusetts. Founded in 1887, the Society is dedicated to preserving the unique history of the Town of Ashland, which is located in the MetroWest region of Massachusetts. The Society strives to collect, preserve, and interpret the town’s history and to share it with the current and future generations.

The Society owns and maintains the Ashland Historical Museum, which is located in the town’s former Town Hall. The museum houses a collection of artifacts and documents that illustrate the history of the town, including items from the turn of the 20th century and a collection of artifacts relating to the town’s industrial heritage. The museum also features a variety of educational displays, including an exhibit on the town’s agricultural history and a collection of photographs from the early years of the town.

In addition to the museum, the Society owns a number of other properties in town including the Ashland Historical Society Library, the Mary E. Phinney Memorial Building, and the historic Warren House. The library contains a variety of resources related to the history of the town, including books and archival materials, and serves as a research center for the Society. The Mary E. Phinney Memorial Building is a Victorian-style home built in 1891 and serves as the Society’s headquarters. The Warren House is a colonial-style house built in 1776 and is the site of several of the Society’s events.

The Society also sponsors a variety of educational programs and events throughout the year, including lectures, field trips, and workshops. The Society is actively involved in the community and works to promote the preservation of Ashland’s history and heritage.
