San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) is a non-profit contemporary art gallery located in the heart of downtown San Jose, California. Established in 1994, ICA is dedicated to providing an environment for emerging, mid-career and established artists to experiment, explore and present contemporary art in all its forms. ICA offers a range of art-related programs, events and exhibitions throughout the year.

The gallery space is a large, open and airy 1700 square feet and is often used to host lectures, workshops, screenings and performances. It also hosts exhibitions that feature a wide range of media, including painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, video and installation.

In addition to the gallery, ICA also offers classes and workshops which focus on different aspects of contemporary art. These classes are taught by ICA’s experienced staff of professional artists. The classes range from basic art classes to more advanced classes such as painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography and video.

San Jose ICA also participates in a number of community outreach programs. These programs include grants for artists and art projects, community art exhibitions, artist residencies, and the Artist in Residence program. Through these programs, ICA contributes to the cultural vibrancy of San Jose and its surrounding areas.

San Jose ICA is committed to providing a space for artists to present their work and to fostering a dialogue between artists and the public. With its commitment to promoting the work of local and international artists, ICA is an essential part of the creative community in San Jose.

Prepare to be amazed We went to see Hanami, the cherry blossoms at Hakone Gardens, a Japanese garden in Saratoga, California. It was an enchanting experience to walk at night below cherry trees in full blossom, and along bamboo trees. This is the main gate where you enter. I processed a realistic, a balanced, and a paintery HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image.
