The Danvers Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and sharing of Danvers' rich history. Founded in 1880, it is one of the oldest and most respected historical societies in the region. The Society maintains two historic properties: the Rebecca Nurse Homestead and the Wenham Museum, both of which serve as venues for the Society's many educational programs.

The Society's archives and library house a wealth of information about Danvers' past, from documents and photographs to artifacts and objects. The library includes access to a variety of documents, such as town records, deeds, family histories, and more. The Society also maintains an extensive collection of genealogical materials, including vital records and cemetery records, as well as the Society's own specialized research materials.

The Society sponsors many educational programs throughout the year, including educational tours of the Rebecca Nurse Homestead, lectures and seminars on a variety of topics, and special events such as lectures, workshops, and exhibits. The Society also hosts an annual lecture series, which features speakers from around the world. In addition, the Society offers research assistance and access to its library and archives to the public.

The Society also publishes The Danvers Historical Society Quarterly, a scholarly journal dedicated to the research and preservation of Danvers' history. The journal includes articles, essays, and book reviews.

The Society is committed to the preservation of Danvers' history for future generations. Through its educational programs, publications, and research assistance, the Society strives to foster an appreciation of Danvers' past and to promote respect for its present and future.
