Friends of Fenway Studios Inc. is a nonprofit organization located in Boston, Massachusetts. The organization was founded in 1989 by a group of Fenway Studios tenants, in order to promote, preserve, and protect the old building and its tenants. The Friends of Fenway Studios is dedicated to preserving and promoting the cultural and architectural heritage of Fenway Studios as well as the neighborhood in which it resides.

Fenway Studios is a historically and architecturally significant building located in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston and is home to over thirty different artist studios and businesses. The building is composed of two interconnected structures, both of which were built in the early 1900s. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 and is now a protected landmark.

The mission of Friends of Fenway Studios is threefold: to promote and protect the historic building, to provide support for the artistic community within, and to develop a vibrant cultural and educational center for the Fenway neighborhood. To this end, the Friends of Fenway Studios has undertaken several projects, including providing educational programming, organizing events and exhibitions, advocating for the preservation of the building and its tenants, and providing support to the artists and businesses within.

The Friends of Fenway Studios is an important part of the Fenway neighborhood and is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the building’s history and the artistic community within. Through their work, they strive to make Fenway Studios a vibrant center of culture and creativity in Boston.

At dawn on April 19, 1775 some 700 British troops arrived in Lexington and came upon 77 militiamen gathered on the town green. A British major yelled, “Throw down your arms! Ye villains, ye rebels.”

The heavily outnumbered militiamen had just been ordered by their commander to disperse when a shot rang out. To this day, no one knows which side fired first. Several British volleys were subsequently unleashed before order could be restored. When the smoke cleared, eight militiamen lay dead and nine were wounded, while only one Redcoat was injured.
