Dwight-Derby House is a historic landmark located in Medfield, Massachusetts. The house was built in the late 17th century and is an excellent example of colonial architecture. The house was home to generations of the Dwight and Derby families, who were prominent citizens of Medfield.

The house is a two-story wood-framed structure with a central chimney. The exterior of the house is finished with clapboards and features a steeply pitched roof with dormers. The interior of the house has been restored to its original colonial appearance, and visitors can see period furnishings and artifacts throughout the house.

One of the most notable features of the Dwight-Derby House is the “Indian Room,” which features murals painted by itinerant artist Rufus Porter in the early 19th century. The murals depict scenes of Native American life and are considered to be a significant example of early American folk art.

Today, the Dwight-Derby House is open to the public and serves as a museum, offering visitors a glimpse into colonial life in Massachusetts. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a popular destination for history buffs and tourists alike.
