Pilgrim John Howland Society, Inc. is an organization based in Plymouth, Massachusetts dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of Pilgrim John Howland. Howland was one of the first settlers of Plymouth Colony, a group of English Puritans who established the first permanent settlement in New England in 1620. Howland is most famous for surviving the Mayflower voyage, and for being one of the signers of the Mayflower Compact.
The Pilgrim John Howland Society, Inc. was formed in 1983 and is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. The organization is run by a volunteer Board of Directors and is dedicated to researching and preserving the legacy of John Howland and his family. The Society’s main goal is to educate the general public about the history of Plymouth Colony and the life of John Howland.
