The Emerson R. W. Memorial House, located in Concord, Massachusetts, is a historic house museum that stands as a tribute to the life and work of Ralph Waldo Emerson. The house, constructed in 1805, is a two-story brick structure with two and a half stories in the rear, and is the only house in Concord that was owned by Emerson. The house contains many of Emerson's furnishings, including a desk and chair, a few paintings, and a library of his books. In addition to the house, there is a visitor center, which houses an exhibit of Emerson's life and works, as well as a bookstore. The museum also offers guided tours of the house, as well as special events such as lectures and musical performances. The grounds of the house contain a number of monuments and sculptures, including a monument to Thoreau, and a statue of Emerson himself. The house is one of the most visited historic sites in Concord, and has become a popular place for those interested in Emerson's life and work.
