PIONEER VILLAGE

Pioneer Village Salem is a living history museum located in Salem, Massachusetts. It is devoted to preserving the history of colonial New England. The village consists of 15 buildings, including a tavern, a Congregational church, a printing office, a general store, a firehouse, and a number of houses from the 17th and 18th centuries. The buildings were moved to their current location from other parts of Massachusetts and were carefully restored and furnished in period style.

Visitors to the village can take a self-guided tour to explore the various buildings and learn about early American history. The museum staff is also on hand to answer questions and provide additional information. There are also activities available for children such as scavenger hunts, crafts, and a working blacksmith shop.

Pioneer Village Salem also hosts special events throughout the year. These include historical re-enactments, lectures, and workshops. There is also a museum store on the grounds where visitors can purchase books, crafts, and other souvenirs.
