The Charles County Archaeological Society of Maryland Inc in Bryans Road MD is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the investigation, preservation, and interpretation of archaeological resources in Charles County and the surrounding areas. Founded in 1978, the Society is composed of dedicated individuals who share a common interest in researching and preserving the past. The Society promotes the public understanding of archaeology through education, research, and fieldwork, and encourages the protection of archaeological resources.

The Society works closely with the Maryland Historical Trust, the Maryland State Archaeologist, and other State and local organizations to promote the preservation of archaeological resources. The society organizes a variety of activities, including field trips, public lectures, lab visits and workshops. In addition, the Society publishes a newsletter that reports on recent activities, as well as a monthly meeting where members share their research and discoveries.

The Society also works closely with the Charles County Department of Planning and Growth Management to ensure that the County's archaeological resources are protected. The Society supports the protection of archaeological sites by educating the public, assisting with archaeological surveys, and providing guidance to those wishing to protect their sites.

The Society is a great resource for individuals interested in learning more about archaeology in the region. Through their various activities, the Society promotes public awareness of the importance of archaeological resources and encourages the preservation of these important sites.
