Somerset County Historical Society is a non-profit organization based in Princess Anne, Maryland. The society was founded in 1956 with the mission to preserve and promote the rich history of Somerset County. The society manages two historic properties - the Teackle Mansion and the Costen House - both of which are open to the public for tours.

The Teackle Mansion is a beautiful 18th-century Georgian-style mansion that was built in 1802. The mansion features exquisite woodwork, plasterwork, and a beautiful spiral staircase. The mansion was once home to several prominent families and has witnessed many significant events in the history of Somerset County.

The Costen House is a 19th-century Victorian-style house that was built in 1870. The house features an impressive collection of antique furnishings, decorative arts, and historical artifacts. Visitors to the Costen House can explore the house's many rooms and learn about the daily life of the families who once lived there.

In addition to managing these historic properties, the Somerset County Historical Society organizes several educational programs and events throughout the year. These events include lectures, workshops, and exhibitions that highlight the rich history of Somerset County. Overall, the Somerset County Historical Society plays an important role in preserving and promoting the history of this beautiful region of Maryland.
