At the time of the War of 1812 the building was one story, with a second story added in the 1830s. Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine, a pentagonal bastion fortification located on Locust Point, is best known for its role in the War of 1812, where it withstood 25 hours of bombardment by the British Navy, inspiring Francis Scott Key to write "The Star-Spangled Banner." The fort was later used as a military prison during the Civil War and as a hospital in World War I, and was designated a national park in 1925 and a National Monument and Historic Shrine in 1939, becoming the only dual-designated national monument and historic shrine in the United States.

Project Liberty Ship Inc is a non-profit organization based in Baltimore, Maryland, founded in 1988. Its primary objective is to preserve the history of the Liberty Ship, a cargo ship built in large numbers during World War II. Baltimore: Ekiben - Ancho Chile Pork The Ancho Chile Pork, little morsels of braised pork, perfectly seared and swimming in bold sauce made with 10 different herbs and spice, topped with refreshing herb and cabbage slaw. Ekiben officially opened its doors in Fells Point in March, 2016. Started by Steve Chu, Abebe, and Nick Yesupriya as a modest operating using a hot-dog cart to sell Asian steamed bun sandwiches at the Fells Point Farmers Market. The name "Ekiben" is inspired by the Japanese tradition of ekiben, or train station bento box.
Scant Time for Practice Due to cloudy and rainy weather, my wife, Leona, and I are finding scant time to practice our photography for the April 8 solar eclipse. We waited all day today to get a couple of photos at about 1749 EDT. Still, the Sun's disc in this photo is mottled by thin clouds.
